ROAR is a multi-award-winning Glasgow hair salon group, founded in 2017 by Brian Leo McCallum, with salons in Strathbungo, Giffnock and Muirend.

We created ROAR around a simple belief: exceptional hair and an exceptional guest experience should always go together.

Our team specialises in hair colour, balayage, blonding, colour correction, cutting, styling and healthy hair, but technical expertise is only part of what makes ROAR different.

With an incredible 35 years in the hairdressing industry, Fiona brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and care to every guest who sits in her chair at ROAR Hair & Beauty in Strathbungo, Glasgow. Specialising in curly hair, short hair, and precision design cutting, Fiona loves creating beautiful shapes that work with your natural hair, feel flattering, and are completely personal to you.

Fiona has a particular passion for cutting and styling curly and shorter hair. She understands that great cutting isn’t about following a one-size-fits-all formula — it’s about understanding your hair, its natural movement and texture, your face shape, and how you want to manage and style it at home. Whether you’re embracing your natural curls, looking for a beautifully designed short haircut, or ready for a complete change of shape, Fiona combines decades of experience with a genuinely personal approach.

For Fiona, one of the best parts of hairdressing is that final moment when a guest looks in the mirror and feels like the very best version of themselves. She loves a makeover, but just as importantly, she wants every guest to leave with hair that feels like them and the confidence and knowledge to look after it between appointments.

Before joining the Pride at ROAR, Fiona spent 24 years with Rainbow Room International as a Senior Art Director — even crossing paths with boss man Leo back when he was just starting out! That experience has also made Fiona an invaluable mentor and coach to the younger members of the Pride, always happy to share her knowledge while encouraging the next generation of hairdressers to develop their own creativity and confidence.

Fiona’s expertise has been recognised throughout her career, including being named Curly Stylist of the Year at the 2022 Salon Awards and Highest Rated Team Member at the 2025 Salon Spy Awards.

After 35 years, Fiona is every bit as passionate about learning as she was at the beginning of her career. In fact, one of her favourite sayings sums her up perfectly:

“The day you stop learning is the day you hang up your scissors.”
