The ROAR Story

ROAR was founded on 11th February 2017 by award winning stylist Brian Leo McCallum. Leo is an International multi award winning stylist having achieved numerous awards throughout his career. Leo is a true colour master and colour has always been his passion! Leo believes that for hair to be amazing the 3 C’s have to be perfect! What are the 3 C’s I hear you ask Colour, Cut and Condition working together for truly beautiful hair.

ROAR was chosen as the brand name due to Leo being Brian’s salon name but much more importantly it creates a brand where each and every member of the ROAR team (or PRIDE) are equally as important as each other. A pride of lions have to work as a team to achieve their goals. It also provides a creative space for individual artists to grow without the focus being solely on the owner.

The first salon was opened in the southside of Glasgow in the Popular Strathbungo area. The Strathbungo salon started with only two sections one backwash and Leo!

In such a short time ROAR grew! The demand was outstanding and so it was time to grow the team. As the team became busier it started to get a little crowded in the Strathbungo salon and so it was time to open a second!

On the 12th of November 2018 just 1 year and 9 months after Strathbungo was opened Leo opened the second ROAR salon in the village of Giffnock. Still on Glasgow’s southside and only 15min drive from the original salon.

The 3rd salon came in the form of ROAR Muirend and was opened on the 3rd of October 2022 it is our newest salon and just like the other salons is ROARING from strength to strength.

Since opening TEAM ROAR have achieved countless awards, trained outstanding hairdressers and made thousands of guests look and feel fantastic.
